Description:
Bahrain International Circuit is recognized as the fasted
Rock to Race F1 project ever constructed. From the
first rock blast to the start of the Bahrain F1 was an
incredible 483 days.
The project was extensive and covered all aspects of
construction, including:-
Main grandstand with VIP suites and commentator booths
VIP tower 8 storey.
Pit building, Paddock Club, race control, and winners
podium
Multipurpose building with grandstand, pits, and VIP
suites.
Media centre for 500 journalists.
Medical centre.
Plant building, maintenance centre, workers lodgings,
water treatment plant.
Entrance gatehouse, large car parking and helicopter
landing pads.
Extensive use of Teflon membrane roofing on all
structures.
5.412Km F1 race track complete with all safety
installations, inner and outer circuits, testing oval,
and dragster track.
Special electronics including timing, cameras, track
signaling, PABX, LAN, security, fire alarm, etc
Other works included; service roads, landscaping, HV
distribution, fire hydrants, sewers, drainage, concrete
paddock area, pavements, flood lighting, signage to name
but a few.
The project was completed ahead of schedule and
officially opened by His Majesty the King of Bahrain in
March 2004.
