Location: Manama – Govt. Avenue
Contract Period: 18 Months

Description:
The project involves the construction of a modern office
building in Manama centre, Bahrain. The building is 10
stories high with a basement car park. The building
envelope comprises curved glazed facades on two
elevations with pre-cast concrete decorative panels
forming the side elevations. Main features include
bespoke curtain walling and private road accentuating the
traditional entrance to the souq.
The site proved a test of engineering skills commencing
with the demolition of existing buildings and a basement
constructed from within a contiguous piled casement.
Further adding to complication was the confined site,
situated between two very congested roads and surrounding
properties of either historical significance or frailty.
The building was originally designed as two independent
towers, which were linked during the construction phase
by a bridge from 2nd floor upwards. Building services
include, chilled water air-conditioning, stand-by
generators, BMS, sprinklers, and addressable fire alarm.
