East Channel Turn Around Dredging / Excavation and Demolition Works at Yas Island – Abu Dhabi

Description:

The works comprise the excavation of a new turning basin for large yachts located opposite the entrance to the Race Track Marina on Yas Island. An existing building is located within the proposed turn-around area. This structure and the services within the proposed site area shall be demolished and removed from the site area.

The proposed works included within this package are the summarized as follows:

• Demolition of the existing building.

• Removal of services within the footprint of the turn-around area.

• Removal of existing groynes adjacent to the entrance to the Race Track Marina and along the frontage of the turn-around area.

• Excavation of the turn area to a depth of -7.34m NADD.

• Dredging of the existing channel to a level of -7.34m NADD.

The volume of material to be excavated for the turning basin will be in the order of 1 (One) Million Cubic Meters. This material shall be excavated and stockpiled.
